Back to the Birth Certificate: Again

Some of you are probably tired of this topic. I myself thought that the issue of Obama's birth certificate would disappear from the public eye after the election. I am rather surprised that the issue hasn't disappeared, but only intensified.

Alan Keyes, who I immensely respect, has dived into the issue of Obama's Kenyan birth. Keyes, whose resume' includes running for president and engaging in the best debate I have ever seen, sparring with Alan Derchowitz over creation and evolution, and heading up several key conservative issues, has sued in the state of California to mandate the state be able to verify Obama's presidential qualifications before releasing the state's 55 electoral votes. I only hold one thing against Keyes. After calling Hillary Clinton a "carpetbagger" for moving to a state simply so she could run for office there (and I agree), Keyes moved to Illinois to run for Senate against Barrack Obama - and failed miserably. Keyes is now going up against Obama again, and this time I hope he's successful.

And once again, the question is not whether or not Obama is a citizen, but if he is a "natural born citizen" - a requirement of the U.S. Constitution. The biggest question in my own mind is why Obama hasn't released his birth certificate to the public, considering multiple lawsuits that have gone as high as the Supreme Court.

What the nay-sayers keep saying is that the Governor of Hawaii and Hawaii officials say the document does indeed exist and is indeed real. What people don't realize is that fact alone doesn't mean squat. The particular birth certificate to which it is alleged Barrack Hussein Obama II obtained could indicate a Hawaii birth, or it could have been generated after little Barrack was brought back to Hawaii after being born in Kenya. This is because Hawaii allowed birth certificates to be issued to children born out of the state as long as one of their parents had claimed Hawaii as a home in the previous year. So his birth in Kenya may have satisfied the requirements for Hawaiian residency, but not natural-born status for the United States.

Keep in mind, once again, no one in the Obama camp can tell us in what hospital he was born, and his own grandmother repeatedly tells the press that she saw him be born in Kenya.

And also consider this fact, which I haven't told you about yet but was recently verified accurate by all sources: Obama was registered as a citizen of Indonesia while growing up. So what? Indonesia doesn't allow dual citizenship. That's what.

What Keyes is asking for is not unheard of. After all, it is the Secretary of State's job to ensure the validity of elections and that the Constitution is adhered to in the electoral process. The California Secretary of State disqualified one third-party presidential candidate in 1984 because he was a few days shy of being 35. For Obama to answer the challenge, it would be very simple. Obama would merely need to include items like an original birth certificate, showing the name of the hospital and the name and the signature of the doctor, all of his passports, and paperwork from the countries where he has lived, verifying that he did not, and does not, hold citizenship of these countries. Why do we have a president-elect that isn't interested in proving his eligibility to be president?

And if you think this is going away, get this: Lawsuits have been filed in 8 states to verify Obama's citizenship status, and lawsuits are pending in 8 more. That's 16 and moving quickly.

I encourage all people to spread the word - we must verify our president's eligibility. Obama needs to release documents relating to his birth and citizenship...if for no other reason and if he truly is a citizen, so I can go on blogging about something else.

As far as I can see, only a few bloggers on the web and the law cases, ask for him to show anything.

The question you are asking implies that you want him to post his original birth certificate before the courts rule.

The obvious question is why? Why post his birth certificate, which may not be clear in its Web version, especially since the original record may not be paper anymore but a microfilm of the original document. Posting such a copy would merely give fodder to conspiracy theorists who will naturally claim that it is forged.

Instead, why not simply wait for a court to ask to see it, IF one does. Then, since it exists (we know because the officials in Hawaii said so), show it only to the court and wait for the court’s reaction.

The court would have the resources to authenticate the document, which the Web would not.

Until a court rules that it wants to see the original document:

(1) Showing anything else is unnecessary. His certification of live birth shows that there is a birth certificate from Hawaii in the files. This is proof of having a Hawaii birth certificate much the way that a bankbook was proof of having that amount of money in the bank;

(2) It is unnecessary because there is no proof that he was born anywhere other than in Hawaii. (The grandmother tape is not evidence.)

IF Obama had been born in Kenya, there would be a record of his mother arriving in Kenya in the archives of the Kenya government.

The critics of Obama, who allege that he was born in Kenya, have not shown anything like this. All they would have to do is to go to those files in Kenya and show that Obama’s mother had been in Kenya in 1961. But they have nothing.

I listened to the tape, and it is not clear that Obama’s grandmother understood the question. The translator (who is also apparently a relative) says repeatedly that Obama was born in Hawaii. In any case, it is not evidence.

The officials in Hawaii say he was born in Hawaii. They have seen his birth certificate in his file. They are thus confirming the certification. And, they have no reason to lie.

Dear SMRSTRAUSS,

Let me get this right. All of this "nonsense" (and it might be, I don't know) could be cleared up by him releasing his birth certificate, passports, and college documents - not online as you suggest, but to the press for authentication. But you don't want him to unless a court orders him to?

What does he have to hide. If there is crazy conservative conspiracies out there, invalid, then people like you and Obama are perpetuating it by stonewalling a very easy act of forthrightness. Just be upfront, honest, and address the concerns of the American people.

He's stonewalling something that is actually a pretty common occurrence in the world of public service. That's what makes people nervous when they hear his grandmother say he was born in Kenya, and no one being able to even say where he was born.

For example...I was born in the Houston Hospital in Houston, Missouri. Dr. Wall was the attending physician. Was that so hard?

Are you serious.

You say, "ONLY" the "law cases." By that do you mean "ONLY" the lawsuits pending at the Supreme Court? ONLY those?

Why on Earth would Emperor Obama feel the need to make documents open to the public if ONLY lawsuit at the Supreme Court ask him to?
