So, Arlen Specter will be a Democrat. I think this is something we've all known for a long time. And now the Democrats will own a filibuster-proof Senate. Obama has called Spector to tell him that the DNC is welcoming him with open arms.
This must send a resonating message that on the local and state level, we mustn't tolerate non-Republican "Republicans." We mustn't tolerate wolves in sheeps clothing. Look what happened when we picked the second-to-most liberal Republican Senator (John McCain) as our presidential candidate. The people revolted. The Republican Party REFUSED to support Spector's opponent in the primary. We asked for this.
Spector says that the Republican Party has gone further and further to the right. What in the world is he talking about? Are we the party of Reagan and Gingrich anymore? Republicans SHOULD NOT believe that is Spector's rationale for leaving the Republican Party. This is his attempt to further sabotage our party, as many Meghan McCain's within it will suddenly think it's our policies and principles - not our lack of testicles and spines - that has brought our downturn.
Spector is now the hero of the left. Good riddance to bad rubbish. We can learn from this; moderate Republicans are no Republicans at all.

I think the confusion here is that you seem to think that "libertarian" means "liberal." Being a libertaraian IS right of Republicans. Hence, your ignorant confusion.
While politically I agree with Pastor Jordan, I wonder if there is spiritual motivation for this post.
There doesn't appear to be one. American politicians, even those that are "good", are a people that cannot be depended on strongly.
We do need to be Christ-followers in every way. If that is extreme, so be it.
No, you are dead wrong! The Libertarian party is described by Nolan as, "Libertarians consider themselves neither conservative nor liberal; rather, they believe they represent a unique philosophy that is all their own". In fact many of thier ideologies oppose both Repubs and Demos, while at the same time borrowing from them.
So as usual you are incorrect, but yet you still somehow attempt to reconcile. It comes down to this; either you know you are wrong but opt to defend yourself by lying or you are just plain ignorant (or ignorantly confused). Either condition you are wrong.
It looks like you've had to do some "research" into the Libertarian party, thus exposing your already abject ignorance. Might I remind you that Democrats do not officially consider themselves liberal, either? Republicans want "conservative" government, libertarians want no government (or as little as possible). I.e. Republicans want a Department of Education that spends money conservatively. Libertarians want no Department of Education.
